Wedding bells are in the air! Not for me of course- my sister got engaged last week and she and her fiance are planning a July wedding. No time to waste!
We went wedding dress shopping last week and Erin didn’t find anything she loved. She wants a tea – length dress with white lace and tulle and no fussy sequins or beading and apparently this is the year of the rhinestone encrusted dress because we all felt like we needed our sunglasses on to look at most of the dresses we saw. She also wants a reasonably modest dress that is neither slit to naval, rear or lady bits (again, hard to find), so we decided that we could more easily make what she wants than find it.
I made my wedding dress, as well as a few for different shows I worked on, so the thought doesn’t scare me. We’re in the process of finding lace and gathering materials, so I will keep you updated as we progress, but here is our inspiration in the meantime.
This is the dress she likes with her changes sketched on. Tea-length tulle skirt, non-sweetheart neckline, lace cap sleeves, keeping the belt with little rosette.

(Proud sister moment- she wants her dress to look kinda like mine!)
